Old Williamsburgh Candle

Old Williamsburgh Candle was formed as a corporation in January of 1994.  Its principle place of business is located at 300 Liberty Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11207.

Old Williamsburgh is now part of Candle Group Inc., which includes, in addition to Old Williamsburgh; American Candle, Pace, Clearly Tech and the Israel Tea Light manufacturing operation.  

The new corporation operates a single manufacturing facility, 100,000 sq. ft., in Brooklyn, NY, in addition to our tea light facility in Israel.  We employ over 250 full-time permanent employees in manufacturing, administration and sales.

Manufacturing Capacity

We currently produce in excess of 1,500,000 candles per week, 75,000,000 units per year.  The combined sales of all entities of Candle Group Inc. will exceed $100,000,000.00 in 2007, a 20% increase versus the prior year.

Customer Base

We service all trade classes on a variety of different products and programs from budget items to super premium candles.  Our customer base includes Bed Bath & Beyond, Michaels, AC Moore and Jo Ann's Stores.  We are the primary supplier to Dollar General, Family Dollar, and Dollar Tree.  We have items in permanent distribution at Walgreen, and Rite Aid.  About a third of our business is with major supermarket chains including Albertson’s, Stop n Shop, Jewel, ShopRite, Pathmark and A&P to name a few on in and out, seasonal and promotional items.  We are the exclusive supplier to K-Mart on White Unscented Tea Lights and the Martha Stewart Tea Light Program. 

Parent Company

Palace Candle, which has a manufacturing facility in Israel, is the world’s largest supplier of Tea Light candles.  We produce over 1,250,000,000 Tea Lights per year and sell to major retailers and wholesalers on a worldwide basis. 

Account Flexibility

We currently do private label programs for House Chem, Michaels, Jo Ann's Stores, Bed Bath & Beyond and a number of other major retailers. 

Our diversity gives us the ability to serve the dollar store industry as well as food, drug, and mass, and the most discriminating high-end specialty retailers.  All of the products sold by Old Williamsburgh Candle are manufactured in Brooklyn, NY or imported from our parent company in Israel. 

Product Offerings

• For most of our glass filled offerings, Old Williamsburgh designs the glass container, has molds built and we have glass supplied from a number of foreign countries:  Saudi Arabia, Poland, Romania and Brazil.  In most cases we have a backup domestic supplier for each of the glass containers we offer. 
• We manufacture our own wicks in a variety of different versions, the most common are lead-free zinc cored wicks, which are predominant in our budget priced product for our more upscale customers we make this available as an option cotton braided, paper core metal free wicks. 
• We use fully refined paraffin wax with 140º melt point supplied by 3 of the largest suppliers in the United States. 
• Our fragrances are supplied almost exclusively by Robertet, which is a major supplier to some of the largest cosmetic houses in the United States including Estee Lauder.
• We produce Spring & Summer programs under a variety of brand names:  Tropical Temptations, Sweet & Tangy, Sensual Summer.
• For Fall & Winter we produce 2 programs:  autumn harvest and Christmas. 
• Our everyday programs include Aroma Dreams and Country Dreams. 

Quality Control

• Most of our major retailers require that our production samples be tested.  They normally direct that our samples be sent to Bureau Veritas Testing Laboratories or in the case of Wal-Mart, CTL Laboratories. 
• In many cases, after initial shipment, product is retested by our major retail customers with samples that are purchased from store inventory.

Merchandising

We have the ability to produce color plan-o-gram’s, pallet ready systems, and mixed pallet ready systems, to accommodate any of our customers needs.
